Role
We're looking for a smart, collaborative and strategic Director of Talent Management to join our HR team. This new role will build on our strong foundation to deliver strategic talent solutions to support CubeSmart's growth. You'll have the opportunity to create, shape and implement programs for our teammates to grow and develop. You'll also lead the HR Business Partnership team to engage leaders in innovative ways to bring out the best in their teams to attract, develop, and retain talent. Areas of responsibility will include career development, leadership and management capability building, organizational design, succession planning, performance management, and teammate relations. As Director of Talent Management, you'll serve as a vital member of HR's leadership team and will report to the SVP, Human Resources.
Responsibilities
Teammate Growth & Development
Direct the creation of a talent management strategy that provides opportunities for teammate development and advancement and supports the company's growth.
Lead the creation and implementation of a career path framework and related programs that support teammate development and retention and differentiates CubeSmart as an employer of choice.
Partner with the Training team to ensure training and development programs and curriculum are aligned with and support the talent management strategy. Create and conduct presentations and trainings as needed.
Collaborate with business leaders and HR colleagues to develop, design and deliver an incorporated approach to leadership development and learning.
Organizational Design & Performance Management
Lead performance management program and process. Evaluate, shape and refine approach to align with talent strategy. Manage ongoing process that drives company outcomes, increases performance, develops talent and enhances engagement.
Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning discussions. Work with business leaders to ensure plans are actively put into practice.
Participate in workforce planning efforts that develop and maintain organizational structures which support the business strategy and facilitate talent development.
HR Business Partnership
Further position the HR Business Partnership team as an integral, proactive resource for internal customers. This includes setting a clear vision, establishing priorities that support business and customer needs, clarifying roles, and measuring/monitoring success.
Engage with the HR Business Partnership team to develop and deliver programs and implement processes that support the company's growth, engage teammates, and develop talent.
Ensure teammate relations efforts are aligned with our culture of genuine care, establish trust, and build management capabilities. Coach/counsel leaders and teammates as needed. Ensure policies and practices comply with laws, regulations and guidelines, and mitigate risk.
A Analytics and Evaluation
Establish appropriate metrics and tracking mechanisms to build accountability, measure results, evaluate trends, and optimize the impact of talent strategies. Develop reports and recommendations for executive-level meetings and decision-making.
Participate in measurement of teammate engagement efforts. Develop and implement talent management strategies that drive engagement. Collaborate closely with Director, Internal Communications and Engagement on engagement efforts.
Management and Leadership
Lead a team of HR professionals and provide strategic leadership. Set performance direction, motivate, coach, develop, recognize, and ensure accountability for results.
Serve as a key member of the HR leadership team. Play an active role in supporting an integrated, best-in-class people strategy. Work closely with HR colleagues to ensure cross-HR strategies, initiatives and communications are seamlessly and efficiently delivered.
Develop a deep understanding of the business and industry to support alignment of human capital to business strategy.
Build effective relationships with senior executive leadership, teammates, and HR colleagues.
Serve as a champion for teammate development and as a role model and ambassador for our culture of genuine care and unparalleled customer service.
Qualifications
A strong, motivating leader who contributes at a strategic level while also willing to jump in and help at a grass roots level where necessary.
Best practice experience in talent management practices, talent and leadership development, organizational design, teammate relations and teammate engagement.
Experience in successfully leading the talent management efforts for a geographically dispersed, diverse workforce, ideally within a high-growth business.
Strong customer service orientation. Responsive to requests. Ability to manage conflicting priorities. Self-directed, motivated and flexible.
Possess outstanding written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated track record of creative problem solving, facilitation, negotiation, and change management skills. Able to eliminate barriers at any organizational level.

Requirements
Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, psychology, business/management or other related field and relevant post graduate degree preferred.
A minimum of 15
years of progressive human resource generalist experience.
US travel is required. Up to 15-20% travel anticipated
